On Sunday 16th June 2002 Iain Gray, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Edinburgh Pentlands and Minister for
Enterprise, Transport and Life Long Learning, accepted the Jubilee Garden Project on behalf of the community.
The photographs show Iain Gray accepting the Project from club president Jim Goodbrand.
The garden project enhances the Lanark Road West (A71) in Currie (at its junction with Riccarton Mains Road) with
colourful planted flower troughs and a new bench (see photographs below).
The flowers will hopefully be appreciated by busy commuters as they plod along the A71 and may even help to reduce
their stress level! For those whose lives allow them more time, the bench will encourage them to pause, rest a while and contemplate the wonderful display of flowers.
