We are located eight miles south-west of the city of Edinburgh, Scotland, adjacent to the Pentland Hills Country Park. Years ago the rural area was mainly agricultural with fifty paper mills along the Water of Leith.
The latter have now disappeared and, whilst farming remains, the club's territory is now an integral part of the city of Edinburgh commuter belt.
A major feature over the last twenty years has been the transfer of Heriot-Watt University from the centre of Edinburgh to Currie and the club now meets at the University and takes advantage of its excellent facilities. The University's Research park is an integral part of the University - a leading
technological and international centre of excellence in research.
Our club emblem is based on our rich industrial and religious heritage, illustrating the last working paper mill in Balerno and the Currie Kirk.
